Pokedex Journey Progress & TCG Triumphs

This week has been full of steady progress on both my Pokemon Home Pokedex and Pocket TCG goals ♡

I started off with tackling Paldea.. honestly, just trying to check it off my list as quickly as possible (apologies to all the Paldea fans out there, but it’s just not one of my favorites) and from here, I’m deciding whether to move onto the Kitakami & Blueberry DLC Pokedexes, or to take a break from Violet and revisit Legends Arceus to work on the Hisui dex. Either way, I’m very grateful for the new shiny distributions, they’ve given me the push I needed to finally make real progress on filling up Pokemon Home.

On the Pokemon Pocket TCG side, things have been just as exciting! I managed to pull all of the Solo Event cards not long after my last update and have been working through the 45 wins needed for the Emblem Event. I’m up to 30 now and the finish line is in sight.

I expected to rely on my Water-type Gyarados deck after the new Palkia ex additions made it even stronger, but I’ve actually found myself sticking with my Grass-type Celebi & Mew deck instead. My Steel-type Mew deck has also gotten some exciting upgrades with Space Time’s new Trainer card pulls, and is slowly evolving into more of a Melmetal deck.. but the most satisfying part is still taking down a high firepower ex Pokemon with Mew’s Genome Hacking.

The fact that my trainer tagline is “I love cute Pokemon!” and I’ve been winning most my matches with Celebi or Mew feels incredibly fitting.

I still bring out my Dragon-type Dragonite deck for fun every now and then, and while Pikachu ex isn’t feeling nearly as strong anymore, I still enjoy playing with my Electric-type deck from time to time (although I wish I could have some luck pulling Pachirisu ex to make it at least somewhat more viable!)

Most excitingly, I finally completed the original 151 Genetic Apex hidden mission and received my secret Mew! I wasn’t expecting it to be an immersive card so that was an extra special surprise (and my completion does confirm that ex cards count towards the 151 Pokedex, I still have quite a few Genetic Apex rares that I need to track down)

For now, it’s time to turn back to the Pokemon Home dex journey. Let’s see how much more progress I can make this week ✩
