Happy Pokemon Day 2025! I feel such a mix of excitement and nostalgia after watching this year’s Pokemon Presents. There’s so much to look forward to in the world of Pokemon & I wanted to share my thoughts on some of the highlights from today’s presentation:
Pokemon Legends ZA & Returning to Kalos
I’m especially excited for Pokemon Legends ZA and getting to return to the Kalos region, a dream come true! As much as I enjoyed Legends Arceus, Hisui felt too different from the Sinnoh I know and love, so I’m excited that the next entry in the Legends series will be taking us back to a familiar location. Kalos holds so many special memories for me and I’m looking forwards towards seeing how the new gameplay elements will enhance the journey while experiencing Lumiose City all over again ♡
Alcremie Surprise in Pokemon Unite
While I had already heard about Suicune and Alolan Raichu through recent Pokemon Unite leaks, Alcremie was a completely unexpected surprise! I’m so happy for my fellow fairy-type fans who now have another adorable fairy to select from in the roster (for me though, Sylveon will remain my go-to partner in Unite, there’s something so comforting about playing as her)
New Hopes & Excitement with Pokemon Champions
As for another entirely unexpected announcement, Pokemon Champions took me completely by surprise. Although we have so few details so far, I can’t help but feel hopeful and excited for the potential of this new project! It feels like it could be a spiritual successor to the Pokemon Stadium games, oh how I wish that series continued past the Nintendo 64 era…
New TCG Pocket Set & Ranked Mode Coming Soon
I didn’t expect yet another new themed expansion set to be released so soon in Pocket TCG, and I’ll admit that I’m feeling further and further behind when it comes to collecting them all, but of course I’m thrilled for more Glaceons in the game and I’ll hold onto the hope that perhaps this time my chase cards will finally find their way home to me. And with ranked mode just around the corner, I’m looking forward towards improving my decks and seeing how far I can climb in the ranked system. I feel like I have some pretty great decks, but of course there’s always room for improvement, and it’ll be a fun journey ahead!
Overall, Pokemon Day always brings me a wave of warmth & joy, it’s a reminder of why I’ve loved Pokemon for so long.. the adventures throughout the years, the trading with others around the world, and, most importantly, the friendships I’ve made with fellow Pokemon fans. I’m so grateful for everything this franchise has brought me and I can’t wait to see what the future holds ✩
