I’m Obsessed With Pokopia

Last thing I wrote here was that Pokopia is a dream game come true and I’m ready to get myself totally immersed & make this game my entire personality.

That’s exactly what has happened (〃ノωノ) ♡

Pokopia is the most enjoyable time I’ve had in the Pokemon universe in quite a while. I’m a little under 50 hours in, and I can confidently say that it’s one of my top 3 games of all time— and I haven’t even gotten close to finishing the story.

I’m not about the fancy storage systems and incredible builds that have gone viral over social media, to me the game is best enjoyed just… slowly existing in the world, getting to meet different Pokemon, and escaping the chaos of real life for a moment to hang out with little Pokemon buddies & make them happy.

So far I have completed the main stories in the first three areas & just unlocked the Skylands. I spent a bit of time remodeling the first area (Wastelands) before deciding to focus first on the story and unlocking everything before dedicating my time to landscaping & habitat building.

Here are some snippets of my Pokopia life thus far:

My current “home base” in the Withered Wastelands, it was scrapped together with some scavenged pieces from my first dream island visit. It serves its purpose and fits in with the post-apocalyptic vibe so I’m not going to be working on it any further until I’ve completed the story.

The first habitat that I built: for Charmander, of course! Charmander was the first Pokemon I saw and fell in love with as a child. He’s literally just living under a bridge— I wanted to protect him from the rain ♡

I absolutely adore everything about Peakychu, I want to hug and love her forever. The Beach area isn’t my favorite aesthetically, but there’s multiple favorite Pokemon of mine here! I spend the entire time with Minccino & Pawmo following me (and Peakychu too, once we met her)

I really just… feel like a kid again, getting to explore a new Pokemon game in a completely new way, and everything about Pokopia brings out the childhood joy from my heart amidst a life of adult chaos ✩
