It’s Sigewinne Time Tomorrow

Sigewinne day is almost here~

After emptying my primogem stash for Escoffier, I was all the way back to zero with only a month to grind more for the Fontaine Chronicled Wish.

And honestly… I’m super burnt out (。-ω-)ウワ

I’ve been continuing through Natlan to grind out as many gems as possible since I’m kinda meh about the region and don’t mind jumping all over the place with the story.

I ended up finding a real soft spot in my heart for Varessa though, she is such a sweetheart~

And I really, really fell in love with Citlali— I may be biased towards her being a Cryo girl, but I think she’s hilarious, gorgeous, and had the best story out of anything in Natlan (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)♡

That all said… I’m just praying I win my 50/50 because if I don’t get Sigewinne after all this work, I’m going to be so so discouraged (& probably take a hiatus from playing)

Possibly the worst part is knowing that Sigewinne doesn’t even have a good kit & her playstyle is awkward, but playing the unloved, “bad” 5 star character is right on brand for me as a Qiqi main.

I just love Sigewinne so much and want her so badly…. please please luck be on my side ✩

Welcome Back, Cryo Girlies

I had the opportunity to try out a friend’s Escoffier in the newest Imaginarium Theater… and she single-handedly made Freeze useable again.

Since I had already invested so many pulls and pity won’t carry over to Sigewinne, I decided to keep going on Escoffier’s banner because I love my Cryo girls so much.

This was the perfect opportunity to finish playing the Natlan Archon questline to gather more primogems. Natlan was almost a fever-dream like experience, it felt like a different game entirely— the character gameplay style, the interface, the vibes were so very different from the regions that came before (and Nod-Krai). I didn’t necessarily dislike the region, it but it did feel jarringly different to everywhere else, and that difference was a bit off-putting. Nevertheless— I have lots more to do in Natlan & will be continuing my journey there now that I have to gather more primos for both Sigewinne & Lauma.

Luck wasn’t on my side, it took another 75 pulls for Escoffier to arrive, but she’s here~

And now I can finally play Cryo again!

This team doesn’t have the best synergy (really would prefer a healer with Furina instead of Layla’s shield, although Escoffier does heal some) but freezing enemies is my favorite combat style in any game and I finally, finally have a viable Freeze team again.

I’m so happy right now, and hope we get even more boosts to Freeze in our next region ♡

Now the grind for Sigewinne begins in earnest— thankfully the Chronicled Wish is on the second half of next patch, so I have a little bit of extra time, but this will really take a lot of commitment. Let’s go~ ✩

Sigewinne is Coming

Excuse me, Fontaine chronicled wish already???? Help help help help….

I have learned a hard lesson about saving primos— don’t “build pity” based on upcoming banners because if you do that, Hoyo will out of absolutely nowhere decide to bring back the one character you want the most in the entire game in a chronicled wish and you’ll have no primos left for her.

I knew Lauma was coming up soon, and I also wouldn’t mind having Escoffier on my account since Cyro is my favorite element… so I was using my Lauma primo stash to take a chance on Escoffier (but lost the 50/50, that’s okay, now I have a guarantee for Lauma)

Except— it’s very much not okay! Because 50/50s on limited banners don’t carry over to chronicled wishes!!!

Now Sigewinne is coming and I am. not. ready.

28,800 primos needed to be 100% sure I get at least one copy and I’m sitting at…… 3,323.

Time to get grinding ✩

Let’s Talk More About Pokopia

Oh Pokopia, how I love you so dearly, this truly is the most fun I’ve had in the Pokemon universe since childhood (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)♡

I’ve tried to write this post on about four separate occasions already but kept on scrapping it because I can’t quite find the right words for what I want to say.

I rolled credits on the main story about 50-60 hours into the game— and now I’m at over 100 hours already, with plenty more to accomplish, so this game is definitely going to continue consuming my life for quite some time. I’m finding myself unable to sleep at night because I keep on thinking about what I want to do next in the game. Seriously, I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this level of captivated by a Pokemon game!

I have quite a lot of thoughts on the game’s main story but have opted to not share them (at least not anytime soon) because not everyone can afford a Switch 2 + Pokopia right now and I don’t want to put any spoilers out into the universe considering I saw a pretty big spoiler myself on release day.

Instead let me talk about what I’m working on now that the game’s main storyline has wrapped up~

First off, I have to complete the Pokedex of course ♡

I’m not planning on trying to grind out dex completion but instead let it come naturally as I move through properly restoring each area of the world. I love how there’s many different approaches for how to “restore” the game’s environment— I’m not the type of player who enjoys flattening everything and starting from scratch, so instead I’m trying to work with the default landscape that the game has provided while adding my own special touches.

The first area I’ve gone back to work on is the Withered Wastelands. I’ve gotten rather attached to this area since it’s where our Pokopia journey began ♡

Here are some snapshots of particular areas I’ve been working on:

I didn’t have a plan yet when I started putting houses down here, but somehow I’ve made it work building around them ♡

Deciding on how to get stairs up here has been a headache but it’s finally coming along nicely. I’m going for a treehouse vibe on the right featuring the Hoppip event items & Pokemon line— it’s very much a work in progress~

The biggest project I’ll be tackling next is restoring this area to the north. I’ve added a bridge to access the Skylands gate but there’s a whole lot to be done here. Hopefully one day I can add an “after” picture from this same angle and it’ll be a nice comparison to see.

I also finally started dipping my toes into the Palette Town area, I’ll talk about what I’ve been working on there next time ✩

I’m Obsessed With Pokopia

Last thing I wrote here was that Pokopia is a dream game come true and I’m ready to get myself totally immersed & make this game my entire personality.

That’s exactly what has happened (〃ノωノ) ♡

Pokopia is the most enjoyable time I’ve had in the Pokemon universe in quite a while. I’m a little under 50 hours in, and I can confidently say that it’s one of my top 3 games of all time— and I haven’t even gotten close to finishing the story.

I’m not about the fancy storage systems and incredible builds that have gone viral over social media, to me the game is best enjoyed just… slowly existing in the world, getting to meet different Pokemon, and escaping the chaos of real life for a moment to hang out with little Pokemon buddies & make them happy.

So far I have completed the main stories in the first three areas & just unlocked the Skylands. I spent a bit of time remodeling the first area (Wastelands) before deciding to focus first on the story and unlocking everything before dedicating my time to landscaping & habitat building.

Here are some snippets of my Pokopia life thus far:

My current “home base” in the Withered Wastelands, it was scrapped together with some scavenged pieces from my first dream island visit. It serves its purpose and fits in with the post-apocalyptic vibe so I’m not going to be working on it any further until I’ve completed the story.

The first habitat that I built: for Charmander, of course! Charmander was the first Pokemon I saw and fell in love with as a child. He’s literally just living under a bridge— I wanted to protect him from the rain ♡

I absolutely adore everything about Peakychu, I want to hug and love her forever. The Beach area isn’t my favorite aesthetically, but there’s multiple favorite Pokemon of mine here! I spend the entire time with Minccino & Pawmo following me (and Peakychu too, once we met her)

I really just… feel like a kid again, getting to explore a new Pokemon game in a completely new way, and everything about Pokopia brings out the childhood joy from my heart amidst a life of adult chaos ✩

When Hobbies Become Stressful

Every now and then I’m reminded of why I tend to eventually quit “games as a service” style gaming and end up back playing my old retro games for comfort.

There’s so many exciting things happening right now that I’m stressed instead of enjoying my hobbies (´-ㅅ-`)ウワ

Genshin is a massive time suck, and even though I’m having a ton of fun, I’m incredibly aware of how much of my free time is spent on this game— and how insanely far away from mastering end game content I am (I honestly feel pretty silly talking about team building at all, considering how I shouldn’t be bothering with that right now and instead focus on quests & exploration)

World of Warcraft Midnight launched this week and I badly want to resub to WoW, but I’m not ready to drop the money for a new expac + monthly subscriptions when I know I will barely have time to play… so I’m feeling the FOMO bad.  At least I’m not too fussed about spoilers and have been living vicariously by watching my favorite WoW streamers (ClodaghLunaria and SapphireRosa, go check them out!)

And then we just had the announcement of Pokemon Winds and Waves on Pokemon Day 2026.  I’m not ready for the new generation of Pokemon yet! I’m focused solely on Pokopia releasing tomorrow, it’s a dream game come true and I’m ready to get myself totally immersed & make this game my entire personality ✩

Adventures in Teyvat Continue

Ah, it’s 2026 already? I’ve been so busy journeying in Teyvat that I’ve lost track of time~

My hobby life is still very much dominated by Genshin. My account has come such a long way— even reading my most recent entry has me feeling nostalgic, it seems like a long time ago. I’ve learned a lot more about team building and character synergy in the past couple of months but my personal priority is still playing with my favorite characters ♡

Qiqi is my forever favorite, and with recent pulls I’ve been able to replace Keqing & Yaoyao with Columbina & Ineffa to give her a Lunar Charged team:

I also finished playing through the Homework Rite quest lines so that Keqing & Yaoyao could have Hexerei buffed teammates. This team still needs a lot of work and it’s on the back burner for now, but someday I really want to return to playing Keqing on field again:

Other characters I love that I’ve been experimenting building teams with are Barbara, Nahida, Nilou, and Sayu. Barbara is one of my top favorite characters who I haven’t played with in a long time, and it would be great if I could pull Lauma & make a proper Nilou Bloom team with Barbara as the driver.

Sayu is a roly poly cutie pie who I have on my overworld team whenever possible, maybe at some point I will farm a good VV set and create a team where I can play her on field purely for fun— but for now I’m happy with being able to utilize her for her exploration abilities.

Ayaka and Layla still being benched kills me but I’m crossing my fingers for a big Cryo comeback with our next region ✩

Furina Rerun and New Genshin Team

Still completely wrapped up in Genshin as my main game at the moment ♡

Very, very excited about the re-run Furina banner: I’ve been targeting her as the perfect support addition to my Qiqi & Yaoyao team, and Yaoyao is a featured 4 star at the same time!

I ended up winning the 50/50..
*and* getting my previously C0 Yaoyao up to C3 (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)♡!!

For being free to play, this feels incredibly immensely successful, thank you RNG luck!

The Qiqi’s Adventure squad now consists of Qiqi, Yaoyao, Keqing, and Furina:

Furina is the perfect addition, I imagine this will be my primary team for quite some time. I believe the best way to play Genshin (and similar games) is to not worry about min maxing and just play with your favorites— but I can’t deny how helpful adding Furina has been. No wonder I’ve heard she’s the best support in the game. Now I just need to finally play through Fontaine to learn her story~

It does hurt having Ayaka off the main roster though, but now I’ll be able to focus on properly building a freeze or mono cryo team with her and Layla. Love my cryo girlies ✩

All Genshin All the Time

I’ve gotten completely and utterly sucked back into Genshin.

Good news: I used up my entire 10k+ primogems stash, and successfully got Nilou!

Bad news: I… don’t really like playing a bloom team (´-ㅅ-`)ウワ

That may change in the future, maybe I’m just not enjoying it because all the characters need to be built up a lot more, but for now my focus has ended up elsewhere.

I’ve been trying to find a way to use Yaoyao, Layla, and Keqing (who I finally, finally have thanks to the current event!) and these are my teams at the moment.. a bit unconventional, but I’m having fun and that’s all that matters.

Qiqi Yaoyao Keqing and Ayaka are currently my main team for exploring & progressing story content, I love them all so much ♡

And splitting them up for my two abyss teams:
Qiqi Ayaka Xingqiu Xiangling & Yaoyao Keqing Layla Barbara

Now that we have the ability to do ‘focused experience’ mode I’m for sure going to be skipping ahead to Nod-Krai. I’m obsessed with the Frostmoon Scion aesthetic and I just want to know more about them and their land and Columbina and… everything!!!

(And so much for deciding to “focus on Instagram instead of gaming blogging” from here on out… oops! Like I said from the start, I’m going to keep this casual and stress-free and follow wherever my whims take me, so less photos and back to gaming talk for now) ✩

Making A Shift in My Blogging Style

I was trying something different with the launch of this blog.

I wanted my tone to sound professional, I wanted to research & properly utilize SEO strategy, I wanted this site to eventually be a professional writing portfolio.

… and I hate it!!!

I gave it a try but that’s not what I want to use this place for.

(I’m so desperately tempted to go back and delete everything I’ve written this year but it was a lot of work and I should still be proud of myself for writing again, so for now, it will stay)

Expect a much more cozy casual tone going forward.. honestly I feel like my ‘professional’ writing voice sounds like AI (probably because I’m subconsciously trying to emulate gaming publications, and I know they all use AI these days) so, this is what you’ll get instead, a very un-professional human being yapping about her favorite things (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)♡

I haven’t been playing very many games lately, just some Genshin here and there to do Bennett’s summer event story & pull for Nilou during the Sumeru chronicled wish. No luck getting Nilou yet, but I did finally get Layla, I’m so happy to have my little sleepy astrologer!!!

I’m super bummed I wasn’t playing during the Inazuma chronicled wish (I’ve given up all hope of ever having Kokomi now RIP) but I have plenty of other characters I still want to build up so I won’t lament for too long. Current goal is to build up Yaoyao’s bloom team. Fingers crossed I get Nilou, I really need her for the team to work best ✩
